Little Treasures...

So as my last blog stated, I went out last night without the kids. While looking in my pocketbook for my lip gloss (why yes, it was popping), I saw a little green car.

Then later on when we hit the club and I had to check my coat, I emptied my pockets. I found a fake tatoo, a Chuck E. Cheese's light up ring and another car (red one this time).

I can only smile.

They all belong to my 4yo.

See, although he plays with the toys, I watch them.

I know when he puts them down to play with something else.

I hold it when he needs to drink a sip of juice.

I hold it when he needs to eat.

I hold on to all of his treasures.

I'm his treasure keeper.

All I can do is smile.

Clean up real nice!!

*from Sat. 1/30/10*

We went out for a birthday dinner for my friend.

WithOUT the kids.

And I even wore make-up and a dress.

I looked like a girl. tee hee

We had a lot of fun and went clubbing afterwards.

I realized that I'm too old for hanging out so the next time I do that will be...uhmmm perhaps next year. LOL

Smurfing around

*from Fri. 1/29/10*

My friend was here and had some blue Hawaiian punch.

Ava drank some.

It gave her a lil smurf tongue.

She made sure to stick it out for us all to see.

And it continues...

*from Thu. 1/28/2010*

The coughing that is.

Yuck.

Ouch.

Instead of coffee in the cup...

there is chicken broth...

*cough, cough, hack, hack...oh snap! a LUNG!*

Cough Cough

So I have been slacking with my blogging for the past few days...BUT I have still snapped those pics.

This is from Wed. 1/27/10

Coughing and coughing was pretty much the way the day went.

The cough made my eyes water and back hurt.

Bad. Just bad.

Only thing in my medicine cabinet was some generic kiddie Mucinex.

It became my best friend.

It's a Jungle out there!

I bought a wall motif for the kids room.

It is very junglely.

Nope...not a word but it sounds fun.

Go ahead, say it....

Junnnglelyyyy.

Good.

Well, here is a snippet of the walls.

I love it and Danny said that it was BEAUTIFUL!

If Ava could talk, she probably would have said the same thing.

Rainbow Brite Twenty Ten!

This is from Tue. Jan 26, 2010.

Ok, so yeah, it IS a lot of colors.

But I like it.

It is kind of like organized noise.

And she wears it well.

Well, to me anyway.

I mean, I couldn't pull this look off!

The thought of me in argyle tights???

Nah, Ava does it better.

The Amazing Ava!

This 12 month old is growing up right in front of my eyes!

I gave her some applesauce and a spoon for her personal eating pleasure.

She of course got applesauce EVERYWHERE!!

Except...

On her bib.

Yup, my kid got skills!

Jealous?

Marketing 101...

So I went to Chuck E. Cheese's with the munchkins today. Yeah, I know....I'm awesome. *smile*

Ya know the tagline for CEC's? "a place where a kid can be a kid" Cute, right? Accurate for the most part...but...I shall re-evaluate...

How about I call it like I see it? New tagline...

"the place where ear plugs get the most use"

"the place where children roam freely"

"the place where avian flu, swine flu, the flu flu, the new flu...damn it...ALL the flues were invented"

I'll stop...y'all get my point...

Kids had fun...

Sickie Poo

I didn't put in an entry yesterday (1/21/10) because I forgot and went to bed. LOL But I DID take a pic and wanted to talk about it...

Ava has a cold and was very snot-filled. She is a happy little lady most of the time, but she had quite a few moments yesterday where she was just MISERABLE.

I don't like colds...but I REALLY dislike cranky babies.

But, even in her crankiness she was still pretty gosh darn cute...

The toes of today...

Stinky feet!

Lemme smell those 'tinky toes!!

At 4 years old, Danny still requests that I smell his feet, make a funny face complete with some weird noise. He has liked it since he was a wee bitty baby. He cracks up and thinks that I'm just the funniest when I smell them.

I wonder if he will still let me do it when he is 5. Or 6. Or 10.

One day, he is going to be too old for the stinky feet game.

One day, his feet are going to be bigger than mine.

One day, his feet are REALLY going to stink.

*sniff*

Until that day, I shall cherish every stinky feet moment that we have.

Love those 'tinky toes!!!

Hanging with my first bambino!

Today was a TRIP DAY with Danny's Pre-school! We saw a live opera style performance of "Streganona".

I re-realized (ya know...I realized this at one point and realized it again today) that my 4 year old is pretty gosh darn awesome.

I got to spend most of the day with him and even treated him to Mickey D's. I didn't originally plan to have a Mommy/Son day...but I'm glad that it happened. Since Ms. Avie baby was born, days like today are rare. Perhaps I should make this a habit.

So back to the awesomeness that is my child... He is such a silly little serious big guy. If I was 4, I would absolutely want him as a friend.

I love

his laugh

his smile

the way his nose crinkles up

his eyelashes

I just love this kid more than words can say.

Here is my pic of the day. It is a nice silly shot of me and my special guy.

The spirit of a legend lives on...

My son doesn't have school today... My husband is off from work... Around here...today is a federal holiday... no mail...no garbage collection...

This special day is to observe a man who left earth early but left behind a legacy that lives on today.

I remember being in the 5th grade and during the infamous Black History month in Feb. we were told to pick a Black leader and write about them. BUT, we were told NOT to write or talk about MLK. Reason...he was talked about TOO much and February was a short month. We only had time to talk about 1 Black leader each. Yeah. It all had to be crammed in one little month.

I digress.

My picture for today is Martin Luther King Jr. He fought for humanity...for the rights of ALL of us to be able to live in harmony. He was more patriotic than I probably would ever be. He loved his country enough to fight for equality.

Let us tip our hats and say Thanks.

Day UNO!

I was going to start tomorrow, but decided...hey why start something tomorrow when today is still here... Nope, that isn't really profound...but it IS what I thought.

Yesterday I threw a birthday party for my brand new 1year old daughter.
Today is the true clean up day.
This face is how I feel after cleaning and cleaning and still thinking about cleaning.

Enjoy.

PS....next birthday party will be a destination location one...

The Introduction

So a very creative friend of mine sparked an idea for a blog project of my own. I am copying her creativity and have decided to take a picture every day for 365 days of my life.

When I first thought about tackling such a project, I considered just taking a picture of my face every day and then adding some cool music while it fast forwards through my year of life. However, I decided against that for a couple of reasons..

1) I have absolutely no idea how to add cool music to anything....

2) That is just not as fun as taking a snapshot of ANYTHING in my life.

So I will be posting a single picture every day that will represent whatever I want in my life for that day only.

So to all (haha if anyone reads this at all) who is reading this and following me... sit back and well....do what you want. :D
